Joy’s Corner Project
An Award-Winning Community of Timber-Clad Modular Homes
The Joy’s Corner Project is a pioneering development of four high-quality modular homes designed to provide safe, sustainable and dignified housing for people taking the next step away from homelessness.
Located within an established residential neighbourhood in Cambridge, the project demonstrates how thoughtfully designed modular housing can be successfully integrated into existing communities while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for residents.
Thoughtful Design for Independent Living
The development consists of four timber-clad modular homes arranged around a shared landscaped space. Each home has been carefully designed to provide comfortable, self-contained accommodation that promotes independence, wellbeing and long-term stability.
Natural timber cladding, planting and carefully considered outdoor verandas help create a warm residential character that sits comfortably within its surroundings.
A key ambition of the project was to create homes that feel like a natural part of the surrounding neighbourhood rather than a temporary housing scheme.
The homes are set within a carefully landscaped setting, surrounded by greenery and planting that softens the development and enhances privacy for residents. Timber fencing and mature landscaping create a sense of enclosure while maintaining a welcoming appearance from the street.
The result is a development that respects its residential context while providing high-quality homes for people rebuilding their lives.
